School Backpack Drive

July 1 through July 31

One of the strongest and surest remedies to urban poverty is education. Be part of the remedy. Throughout the month of July, Presbyterian Urban Ministries is praying for as many school backpacks and most commonly needed school supplies to distribute to the children of San Diego's neediest families. The fall semester begins early (August) in San Diego, so the time is now to provide a deserving child with tools for school . . . and, ultimately, tools for a more optimistic future.

Vacation Bible School

Monday, July 12 through Friday, July 16

More than just a couple children have described Graham Memorial Presbyterian Church Vacation Bible School—VBS—as being more fun than Disneyland. But like Disneyland, VBS is a very cleverly disguised educational experience, too.

Each summer, VBS takes on a new theme, expressed in all the printed materials, equipment, and stage props used to transform the church sanctuary into a very cool science lab, a wild, way-out West ranch, or a camp site for an African safari. Each day's lesson frames new perspective in a window of biblical worldview and helps prepare kids for lives as role models and disciples. This year's theme is High Seas Expedition»

A great opportunity for male bonding and an all-around good time of fellowship.
