    Phantom Gala 2018

Project 25 is an annual, collaborative, community service campaign based in San Diego California. Over the past six years Project 25 has helped inspire and fund the ideas of thousands of students to creatively raise tens of thousands of dollars to make an impact in their schools, communities, city, and the world.

Every year Urban Youth Collaborative puts on Project 25 with 50 San Diego middle and high school clubs receive mini grants of 100 dollars each.  Based on a paralble Jesus teaches (Matthew 25), each club is given six weeks to multiply that money in order to make an impact in other people’s lives. As in years past, Converge and Club Blank have decided to pool their mini grants together to make an even larger impact.

This year, in order to multiply the Lord’s money, Converge and Club Blank will be hosting a Phantom Gala on April 31, 2018.  The gala will take place at the underwater Atlantis room beneath the Hotel Del and will start promptly at 7 pm. This will be a black-tie event, so please come in your finest formal attire! A ten course meal will be provided, including only the most scrumptious foods prepared by famous master chef, Gordon Ramsay. Throughout the evening, a lovely string quartet will be playing. To conclude the evening, William Shakespeare will delight us by putting on a production of his very own Romeo and Juliet.

Now, in case you haven’t realized yet, this Phantom Gala truly is a does not actually exist! However, the revenue collected by your generous purchase of tickets will be go a long way toward helping others.

Proceeds received from our Phantom Gala will go to College Area Pregnancy Services (CAPS). It is an organization created in 2004 to help women make the best life-giving decision for their unplanned pregnancy. C.A.P.S. has three clinics throughout San Diego. Their goal is to help pregnant women feel comfortable, give them the care and support they need, and provide clear non-abortion options for the mothers.

All of the services provided by C.A.P.S. are completely free of charge. The services they offer include: extremely sensitive pregnancy testing and ultrasounds. With an ultrasound, women are provided an opporuntiy to connect with there child for the first time.  This first meeting helps a mom feel a stronger connection toward her child, ultimately helping her choose the best plan of action for her and her baby. They also provide abortion information and post abortion counseling and nurse consultations. All of the services are completely confidential, giving an ideal atmosphere for women to feel comfortable to receive the information they need.

College Area Pregnancy Services post-abortion services allow pregnant women to have a better understanding of the emotional effects that may come after one gets an abortion. They offer one-on-one post abortion emotional support and also has post abortion support groups.

They also provide information for the fathers of the babies. It’s not uncommon for a father to leave the mother and the baby due to a number of reasons, but College Area Pregnancy Services offers counseling for the fathers and offers them suggestions on the best ways to deal with the pregnancies and what not to do.
